  1. This book was very interesting. It has two boys who are very different and it shows me that even if two people have exactly the opposite personality if they come in contact a lot happens. -Keira

  3. This book was great. I love how you got the two perspectives, but it made me sad when I thought about how misunderstood the Madman really was. It really came to life and made you feel like you were living in Bengi and Reds memory. This was one of my favorites.

  5. At first I found this book slightly underwhelming, but as I read on I liked it more and more. It is fascinating to think of how many people out there are as misunderstood as The Madman. It was an incredibly sad book, especially at the end, but I am beginning to think that as I liked Red Wolf & the night gardener that I prefer the sad books! Overall, this book was a thought provoking read with lots to take away! -Anna R, Room 306

  6. First I Didn't understand the storyline but then later I found out that the story was from 2 perspectives and theeeeen I understood. I really like this book because I first of all like how at first Benji and red started out separated and then met together. That was really clever of the author.
the only part that I kind of didn't like was at the end when the madman died! it was so sad. but overall, I liked this book.
