  4. I enjoyed the dialogue and writing style that was used in this book. The first 200 pages were engaging. I really liked how the story developed and made the reader want to keep going. I felt a personal connection with Kip when he stood up to Alistair's bullying. Hester was an interesting character. I would be curious to see how she would be portrayed if this book became a movie. The last section seemed a bit rushed as the story headed towards a resolution. It was a bit confusing at times. Overall, this was an enjoyable and interesting text. -Jefferson Davis

  8. I loved this book so much! The beginning was a bit boring, but I loved the story and Molly and Kip are really brave characters. It wasn't too scary either. This was one of my favourites. I hope they make a second one!!!!!!!!! :-)

  9. This books was one of my Favorites. The beginning was pretty boring, but it gets really exciting and suspenseful for the rest of the book though. Even though, the second time I read it, it was more scary then I remembered, but not like those freaky thriller ones that are too scary for my taste. Any way, it was really great to read and kept me on the edge of my seat. Author, make more books!!!- Kate Ker : )

  10. In this book, I found the author uses really descriptive writing, which works perfectly with the fascinating settings and the tree. I also liked how the characters were very strong and they persevered through whatever came their way. I found it slightly cheesy when Kip was saved by Molly's story, but I loved Hester. It was fun wondering what Hester would look like with her pack of bits and bobs slung over her back.
Overall, not a bad read! -Anna R, Room 306
